East Ridge motel fire prompts evacuation

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Wednesday night, East Ridge Fire and Police Department responded to a reported fire alarm. This was at the Quality Inn Motel located at 6700 Ringgold Road, just before 9 p.m.

Upon arriving, heavy smoke was coming from the pool storage room area.

The East Ridge Fire Department requested all off duty personnel to respond and a second alarm was requested through the Tri State Mutual Aid for additional help.

The fire department started an evacuation at the motel and contained the fire to the storage room.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries were reported.
