East Ridge Police Chase Ends With An Arrest

A Thursday morning police chase in East Ridge ends with an arrest, but not before the suspect drove the wrong way down Interstate 24 and hit a vehicle.

East Ridge police believe it all started around seven Thursday morning.

We’re told that’s when Lovell Lightner, 40,  stole lawn equipment from a home on Delaware Avenue.

Police tried to stop him, but couldn’t.

That’s when the chase began.

After Lightner crashed his vehicle, authorities say he tried to run away, and struck one officer in the face.

Lightner now has a slew of charges against him.
