East Ridge Police fill cruiser for local food pantry

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The East Ridge Police Department collaborated at Local Coffee to help the less fortunate this holiday season.

The department raised food and monetary donations for the East Ridge Food Pantry.

Folks came out on Sunday to take part in filling an ERPD cruiser with donated food items.

The department has continued this tradition for nearly four years.

“We’ve probably been doing this about four years now. Basically in any community you’re going to have some people that are a little less fortunate than others. East Ridge Food Pantry tries to step up and meet the needs of those less fortunate than other individuals,” Chief Clint Uselton said.

Uselton said they have recieved over a couple hundred pounds of food in previous years.

They are encouraging the community to keep giving back as we enter this holiday season.

The department also partnered with the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association to make this event possible.
