RED BANK, TN (WDEF) – Red Bank police believe an elderly woman murdered her brother early Tuesday morning.

Just before seven, officers were asked to do a welfare check at a home on Lullwater Road.

Police say Forrest admitted to relatives that she killed Barnes.

Forrest is charged with first degree murder.

When officers got there, they heard a woman screaming for help.

They forced their way in, and that’s when officers say they found Glenda Forrest, 63, with self-inflicted stab wounds to the abdomen.

A short time later, officers found her brother Donald Barnes, 65, stabbed to death in a bedroom.
