Elementary school administrator injured
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Calvin Donaldson Elementary School principal is recovering tonight after an incident with a student this morning.
School officials say that the principal Mrs. Odom was trying to calm a student down when the student.
In the process, the administrator “lost her balance” and fell.
She was taken to the hospital and said to be doing okay.
Tim Hensley, Communications Officer for the school system says, “Anytime that you’re in a situation where you have a young child, and that young child is becoming upset and out of control and our folks are trying to resolve that and get the child back under control but accidents happen.”
Hensley says that discipline is always handled in accordance with the board policy.
The individual student discipline can not be release due to federal regulations.
