Eleven local football players sign on Early Signing Day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Eleven local high schoolers signed letters of intent to play collegiate football Wednesday. This is the first year the NCAA has allowed an “Early Signing Day.”
Below is a full list of Tennessee Valley stars who have committed to playing at the next level:
Jaylon Baker (Baylor School) – signed to play at University of Virginia, accumulated over 500 yards and 6 touchdowns as a Raider wide receiver
Dylan Cole (Dalton High School) – signed on to play as an offensive lineman for the UT Chattanooga Mocs
Walker Culver (Baylor School) – signed with Virginia Tech as a left tackle
Brendon Harris (Baylor School) – signed to play for Vanderbilt University, rushed for 840 yards and nine touchdowns, also caught four more touchdowns as a Raider running back
Kohl Henke (Boyd-Buchanan High School) – signed to stay in Chattanooga and become a safety for the Mocs
Luke Johns (Southeast Whitfield County High School) – signed as a defensive end to play for Georgia Tech
Markeith Montgomery (Ridgeland High School) – signed to play Kennesaw State University as a running back
Jay Person (Bradley Central High School) – outside linebacker, signed to play for Appalachian State University
Jalyn Shelton (Ridgeland High School) – signed to play as a running back at Austin Peay
Luke Shiflett (Northwest Whitfield County High School) – quarterback signed to play at Middle Tennessee State University
