Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – May 20, 2017

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.

Enjoy this nice spring weather, and join a park ranger for a historical bike tour of the Chickamauga Battlefield.

The bike tours are now being offered monthly.

Get some exercise, while learning about the battlefield’s history.

The leisurely ride should take about two hours, and starts at 9:30 a.m., Saturday.

You can bring your own bike, or reserve one ahead of time.

If you’re a whiskey fan, the Fourth Annual Tennessee Whiskey Festival is happening Saturday night.

You can sample whiskey from not just the Volunteer State, but other regions, as well.

General admission even includes 10 chicken wings, which you can pair with your drinks.

The event is from 6 to 11 p.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion.

You can also drive across the state line to Asheville, North Carolina, for the 14th Annual Montford Music and Arts Festival.

It’s the city’s largest, longest running, one-day neighborhood street festival.

Visitors from all over return each year for the live music, local cuisine, shopping, and fine art.

Activities are going on all day, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Montford Avenue.

Back in Tennessee, celebrate Asian culture at the Chinese Lantern Festival.

The Fairgrounds Nashville is transformed at night, with sculptural lantern displays, folk-culture stage performances, an illumination parade, plus other activities and entertainment.

The event is from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

It continues through June 11.

The Atlanta Funk Fest also lasts all weekend.

It looks like Saturday’s show is sold out, but you still have Sunday to check out this popular music festival.

Sunday’s performers include Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Brandy, and JOE.

The show starts at 4 p.m. at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater.
