Energy Sparks STEAM Summer Fun

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points is buzzing with excitement as the “Energy Everywhere” STEAM Camp kicks off a two-day adventure in discovery and innovation. Designed for rising 5th, 6th, and 7th graders, the camp brings science to life through fun, hands-on experiences focused on the energy that powers our world.

Presented in partnership with the American Museum of Science and Energy and proudly sponsored by Cleveland Utilities, the camp invites students to explore the many forms and sources of energy that impact our daily lives. From electricity and solar power to kinetic energy and beyond.

The curator of arts exhibitions and programming had this to say about Energy Everywhere STEAM camp “We hope that students can universally begin to question and be curious about the things around them. How do we get energy? Where does it come from at what costs? The really important aspect of that education is continuing in that education. It’s really being a vibrant and curious sponge so we’re giving them items to think about and to explore and maybe to start questioning things around them in a different way”

Throughout the camp, young learners are diving into dynamic STEAM-based activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), including engaging demonstrations, exciting team-building games, and creative solo projects. Each element is designed to spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, and promote real-world problem solving.
