Enterprise Center CEO is retiring

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Enterprise Center in Chattanooga is looking for a new leader.

Deb Socia has announced her plans to retire as President and CEO at the end of the year.

The board has begun searching for her replacement.

The Enterprise Center is a nonprofit organization focusing on digital equity and expanding broadband in the community.

“Deb’s passion for people and her tireless work to bring access and resources to communities has been a driving force behind The Enterprise Center’s impact, partnerships and growth,” said TEC Board Chair Sydney Crisp.

“Her leadership, especially throughout times of unexpected change in a pandemic, set the course for where we are today.”

Under her five years of leadership, the Center has:

— helped the school system’s EdConnect program bringing internet access to 17,000 students

— a Google IT certification program at Chattanooga State

— honored 11,000 students, teachers and parents for bringing Tech home.

“The significant impact her career has made on individuals and communities across our region and beyond is a legacy The Enterprise Center will certainly carry on in our search for our new
CEO,” TEC Vice Chair Dan Ryan.

The Enterprise Center’s search for a new leader should be finished by the summer.
