EPA announces wastewater, stormwater funding in Tennessee
TENNESSEE (WDEF) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced over $10 million will be going toward the upgrade of wastewater and stormwater systems in Tennessee.
A press release states that the $10,897,000 comes “from the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act for states, Tribes, and territories through this year’s Clean Water State Revolving Funds.”
The EPA said this will protect “public health and treasured water bodies across the nation.”
“Too many communities across the country are facing challenges with water infrastructure – from climate impacts like drought vulnerability, to a lack of basic wastewater services that everyone deserves,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan.
Biden’s current administration invested $775 million toward their Investing in America agenda, and this funding is part of that.
