EPB and partners offer trees for free

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — EPB is partnering up with the city of Chattanooga and Reflection Riding to offer something special.

They’re giving away two native trees for free to residents in EPB’s service area.

It’s part of their annual Re-leaf program, which is now in its fourth year.

The goal is to add more beauty and shade to the Chattanooga area.

They say the trees also bring down energy costs.

Sophie Moore, Public Relations Specialist for EPB told us, “When you pick out your two free trees at reflection riding, you;’ll get professional advice on the best place to plant those trees to keep them healthy and growing for a long time. As well as advice from EPB on where to plant those trees to avoid future power outages or power lines.”

All you have to do to get those trees is go to epb.com/freetreereleaf to select a tree, and then head over to Reflection Riding to pick them up. You do have to transport and plant the trees yourself.
