EPB Investigating Monday Night Power Outage
Chattanooga (WDEF) – The Electric Power Board will update us this afternoon on what caused Monday night’s unusual power outage.
But here is what we know so far.
The problem was with a 46,000 volt power line that went down.
That’s a big one, and it caused a chain reaction of outages through the system.
You could see the smart grid trying to repair the problem by the multiple fluctuations in power.
The outage affected thousands of customers in the Rossville, Fort Oglethorpe, Chattanooga Valley, Lookout Mountain and East Ridge areas.
Power was restored overnight.
