Ex-Alabama Player’s Accuser Recants Domestic Violence Claim
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – Police say the woman who accused former Alabama football player Jonathan Taylor of domestic violence has recanted her allegations.
Tuscaloosa police said in a news release Wednesday that the woman, who has not been identified, was arrested on a charge of False Reporting to Law Enforcement.
Police say they will review the charges at a later date.
Taylor was arrested on Saturday and coach Nick Saban dismissed the defensive lineman the following day. He was charged with domestic violence third-degree assault and domestic violence third-degree criminal mischief after the woman reported injuries to her neck and damage to her apartment.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound lineman was dismissed from Georgia in July 2014 following his arrest on aggravated assault and family violence charges for allegedly punching and choking his girlfriend.
