Prosecutors say they found he had been taking bribes from inmates to bring in the meth and phones.

Grindle was also caught lying about his military service during a sentencing hearing.

He was deployed to Afghanistan.

But officials confirmed that the story he told of being stabbed by a Taliban fighter who he killed with his pistol was all made up.

Grindle received a sentence of eight plus years in federal court.
