Experiential EV ride and drive takes over Chattanooga racetrack
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An Experiential EV Ride and Drive took place on Saturday morning for the Chattanooga community.
Sponsored by The Company Lab and local car dealerships, people were given the chance to test drive electric cars for free.
Vehicles from Tesla, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz were offered for the public to test drive.
The event promoted electric vehicle sales by inviting people to learn and experience the cars firsthand.
Automatic driving features along with environmentally conscious gas mileage were just some of the selling points for the vehicles.
“But the best part about it is, you’re able to come out, drive these cars… cause a lot of people, you know it’s a big change going from gas to electric. So here, no pressure, you come in, sit in them, try them out, drive them. We’ve got tons of product specialists here that could tell you about the car. So, you can get the experience to see what they’re like and learn more about them,” Long of Chattanooga General Sales Manager Allan Long said.
The first-ever experimental ride and drive took place at The Bend racetrack.
The event offered opportunities for the local community to test drive electric vehicles and new models for free.
Local dealerships and organizations participated in the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
