Family displaced in Saturday evening fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department is investigating a house fire on Idlewild Drive. It was called in at 10:39 p.m. Saturday evening.

Firefighters say when they arrived they saw smoke coming from the home. They then located a working fire in a bedroom of the residence.

The fire was under control within 5 minutes and contained to the bedroom.

No one was injured, however, a family of four (one male and three children) was displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chattanooga Police, Hamilton County EMS, Electric Power Board and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
