Fatal Crash on Amnicola Highway

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Around 3:20pm Sunday, the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a crash involving 2 vehicles at 4400 Amnicola Highway.

According to the police, a silver sedan was exiting Highway 153 South onto Amnicola when it was struck by a blue Jeep traveling south on Amnicola.

Chattanooga Police notified Hamilton County EMS immediately when officers arrived on scene.

According to the police, the driver of the sedan was deceased when police arrived on scene and was entrapped in the vehicle.

Police say the passenger of the sedan was taken to Erlanger Hospital with unknown injuries and the driver of the Jeep refused medical treatment.

Police are interviewing the driver of the Jeep as part of the investigation.

Chattanooga Police say names will be released once the family has been notified.
