Fatal crash claims prominent Warren County community member

WARREN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Warren County is mourning the loss of a prominent community figure following a tragic event on the morning of October 24, 2024.

Phyllis Prater, a beloved philanthropist and key supporter of local initiatives, was killed in a motor vehicle collision during a violent crime spree that spanned Rutherford and Warren counties.

The incident is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI), Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), and the Warren County District Attorney’s office.
