Fatal traffic accident claims two lives on Rossville Boulevard

 

UPDATE (2/11/2025):   We’re getting new updates on the condition of the Impala’s passenger following the fatal crash on Rossville Boulevard over the weekend.

The driver of the Impala died on the scene.

However, the passenger was transported to a local hospital with what officials were calling non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Chattanooga police, the passenger later died at the hospital.


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A fatal crash on Rossville Boulevard over the weekend claimed one life, according to police.

On February 8, 2025 at 2:08 a.m., Chattanooga Police (CPD) responded to the 4900 block of Rossville Boulevard for reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers found a crash involving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala and a 2014 Ram 1500.

Officers located the driver of the Impala, a 47-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, and a 41-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to CPD, the 47-year-old man died on the scene.

The 41-year-old man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

CPD’s preliminary investigation reveals that the Impala was traveling north on Rossville Boulevard and the Ram was traveling south.

At some point, the Impala crossed the roadway and struck the Ram head-on.

CPD’s Traffic Unit is working to determine the reasoning for the Impala crossing the roadway and striking the Ram.
