Father arrested after police find seven children in U-Haul

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — East Ridge Police arrested a man after discovering seven juvenile females inside a U-Haul truck Tuesday.

On March 25, 2025, officers responded to a report of children being loaded into the back of a U-Haul.

Officers were able to quickly locate the vehicle on I-75 North near Exit 3A.

During the traffic stop, officers found seven juveniles inside the U-Haul.

Two of the seven juveniles were in the front cab, and the remaining five were located in the back storage compartment.

According to the East Ridge Police Department (ERPD), an extensive investigation found that Brandon Blount was the father of the juveniles.

Blount was arrested for multiple counts of child endangerment and neglect.

Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified, and all seven children were transported by EMS for medical evaluation.
