Father’s Day cookout costs a lot more in Tennessee

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Celebrating Dad could add up these days.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, watermelon, soda and beer all add up.

Especially in Tennessee.

ConsumerAffairs compared the cost of a Father’s Day cookout and our state had the third highest bill in the country.

The two biggest culprits are the Ground Beef and the Beer.

The national average for the cookout is $83.

But in Tennessee that rises to almost $90.

Only Hawaii and Alaska rank higher.

Alabama ranks 11th on the list with Georgia coming in 21st, just below the national average.
