Fayetteville High School vs. South Pittsburg High School

South Pittsburg, TN (WDEF) – South Pittsburg is no stranger to making deep runs in the playoffs.

But in the second round of the playoffs Friday night, the Pirates expected a tough test out of Fayetteville.

South Pittsburg entertaining Fayetteville, but the match-up was anything but entertaining for the visiting Tigers.

Early first quarter and the Pirates ground game is out in full force.

After a Chase Blevins TD early, Quarterback Hogan Holland puts the Pirates up two scores with a keeper from just outside the end zone.

After a Fayetteville punt, another big run by the Pirates.

This time by Joseph Lilly III, who helps to set up another Holland sneak from a few yards out.

In a hole early, Fayetteville looking to make something happen on offense as Quarterback Austin Holdmeyer scrambles, but ends up throwing a costly interception to Kyree Pryor, and Pryor is gonna take it deep into Tiger territory, setting up another keeper by Holland to give the Pirates a commanding lead.

South Pittsburg finished the game with 513 rushing yards on their way to a 55 to 23 thrashing and a second round win in the class 2A playoffs.
