FBI searching Mountain Creek Road apartment following lead on Chattanooga shooting

UPDATE: As FBI agents were approaching the Mountain Creek apartment, a 15-year-old appeared to be pointing a rifle at them.

Officials say agents ordered the young man to drop it.

It took several orders before he complied.

He had another weapon in his pants.

They were found to be an air soft rifle and pistol.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold says, "Our agents demonstrated exceptional restraint in dealing with the young man. And I would encourage folks not to come outside, and especially point weapons at law enforcement officers, that’s not a good mixture for a happy outcome."

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The FBI is searching an apartment at Mountain Creek Apartments in Red Bank.

FBI officials say they’re following up on a lead of an associate of the Chattanooga shooting suspect Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

Neighbors say it’s the 3rd time.
