Federal Agency Meeting with Residents About Barwick Fire

LaFayette (WDEF) – Officials with a federal agency will meet with neighbors of the Old Barwick Mill Plant Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The plant caught fire on Saturday.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is holding a Public Availability Session to talk about how breathing smoke from the Old Barwick Mill Plant fire may affect their health.

The EPA has asked ATSDR to review data and determine any potential health risks from the fire.

They will be at the Walker County Public Library in LaFayette (305 S. Duke Street) between 3-7PM.
