Federal plea deal over gun and pipe bomb conviction in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Chattanooga man has been sentenced in federal court this morning on charges of making illegal explosives.
41 year old Anthony Christopher Lively pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm silencer and unregistered destructive devices.
Law enforcement raided his home in August of 2022.
They say they found a Grand Power Stribog Model SP9A1, 9-millimter, short-barrel rifle (8-inch barrel length) , ammo and details of explosives.
They also learned that he had a family member remove items from the home.
At the relative’s, they found home made pipe bombs and molotov cocktails.
Neither the gun nor the explosives were registered.
Federal prosecutors say he later admitted to making them.
Lively was sentenced to four and a half years in the plea deal.
