Female inmate smuggles fentanyl into Hamilton County Jail

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An inmate was charged for smuggling fentanyl into the Hamilton County Jail.

Three female inmates had overdosed within 36 hours. All three of the women were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Hamilton County Detectives found Laurel Skye Cruse to be the source of these narcotics.

She admitted to smuggling the drugs into the jail with a rubber glove inside of her.

Cruse faces charges of possession of fentanyl for resale and contraband in a penal institution.

Additional charges may be pending.
