Find out how redistricting affects you in Tennessee now online
State launches new website with the changes
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has launched a new online dashboard to show citizens how redistricting has affected you.
Go to the Tennessee District Lookup for your answers.
Enter your home address and the site will tell you which districts your are now in and where you will vote.
It will also tell you if anything has changed for you.
We entered the address of our TV station on Broad Street as an example.
We found that our Hamilton County Commission district has, in fact, changed.
But our Tennessee House and Senate districts have not, as well as our Congressional seat.
Our voting precinct has also changed, slightly.
The Comptoller’s Office reports that redistricting has brought some changes for 2.5 million addresses in Tennessee.
The new districts will apply to elections this year.
Redistricting happens every ten years after the new U.S. Census is taken.
“This easy-to-use dashboard is a simple way to see how you and your family will be represented in future elections,” said Comptroller of the Treasury Jason Mumpower. “Redistricting and reapportionment help ensure that our elective bodies adhere to the ‘one person, one vote’ standard of representation. With the shift in district boundaries, it’s important for all Tennesseans to know which district they are in.”
