Fire department steers struggling eagle to shore
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Firefighters saw an odd object floating in the water while training on Wednesday evening.
As they approached it, the object started moving.
They realized it was a juvenile bald eagle.
The firefighters contacted the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, who told them not to intervene unless it was struggling.
The CFD said they kept their distance, but “steered” the eagle toward the shore.
Other birds, that they assume were the parents, were circling above the boat. They were also very “talkative.”
The eagle safely got to shore, where the CFD left it.
