Firefighter Self-Extricates After Falling Through Floor During Hunter Road House Fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A firefighter was able to self-extricate after falling through the floor of a Hunter Road home during a house fire on January 7.

Firefighters responded around 1:00 p.m. on January 7 to multiple calls about a possible house fire on the 5000 block of Hunter Road.

During the operations, a MAYDAY was broadcast over the radio, which indicates a firefighter down.

A Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department (TCVFD)  firefighter had fallen through a floor, but was able to self-extricate.

The firefighter was checked and released by Hamilton County EMS on scene, TCVFD says.

They were able to go back to work on the scene with no injuries.

One party was located and removed from the structure.

They were turned over to Hamilton County EMS, and transported to the hospital.

Their condition is currently unknown.
