Firefighters battle blaze inside a gun shop

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Firefighters are trying to contain a blaze at the Shooters Depot on Shallowford Road.

The fire is in an attic space above the store and firing range.

Officials describe it as being above some ceiling tiles.

Of course, all the ammunition inside the building raises concerns for their safety.

The ammo was stored in an administrative building next door, so firefighters were able to keep the fire away from it.

The office area was not damaged.

No one has been injured at this point.

Shallowford Road is blocked at Polymer Drive, near Highway 153, creating a major traffic jam during the noon rush hour.
