Firehouse Subs customers help equip Hamilton County rescue teams

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation announced Friday an equipment grant awarded to Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Service.

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue Service will use the grant to purchase an artificial high directional system worth $4,895.

It will be used in rescue missions where victims must be lifted to safety, such as off a cliff or mountain, allowing first responders to quickly and safely rescue victims and provide life-saving assistance.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was created in 2005.

Its mission is to provide funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations.

Company officials say the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given more than $18 million to hometown heroes in 45 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $930,000 in Tennessee.
