Five Scenic Routes Offered to Help Chattanooga Drivers Beat Summer Traffic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) Thrive Regional Partnership and the Tennessee Infrastructure Alliance are encouraging drivers to ditch the gridlock and explore five alternate routes to avoid some of Chattanooga’s most congested interstates.

We know areas like the I-75/I-24 split, the Ridge Cut, and the Highway 27 and I-24 interchange are heavily trafficked, especially by trucks,” said Rhett Bentley, Chief Communications Officer. “We’re promoting these routes to help people bypass those pinch points and enjoy a less stressful, more scenic commute.”

But the effort isn’t just about avoiding traffic.

“What’s resonating with people is that you can take the interstate and probably get stuck, or take an alternate route through forests and farmland — roll the windows down, turn the music up,” Bentley added. “That’s the experience we’re inviting people to tap back into this summer.”

The list of suggested routes is available at Tennessee Infrastructure Alliance.org
