Fleischmann concerned about escalation, commitment in wake of Israel invasion
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – More reaction is pouring in after the Hamas invasion of Israel.
Representative Chuck Fleischmann says that this moment is a test for the United States in its commitment to the Israeli state.
He says this conflict has the potential to destabilize the Middle East, and lead to conflict including countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia.

He especially is concerned about Iran’s connections to Hamas, with reports saying Hamas credited Iran with helping fund the invasion.
He said, “The fact that Iran continues to be a state sponsor of terrorism, with Hamas, with Hezbollah, they have just been bad actor in that neighborhood.”
He added that he is concerned about Saudi Arabia and Qatar’s refusal to condemn the attacks.
He also said this situation increases the urgency of selecting a new House Speaker, of which the Republican House members plan to do tonight.
