CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We spoke with Congressman Chuck Fleischmann on the military operation conducted by Israel against Iran.
Representative Fleischmann has long been a staunch supporter of Israel.

He argues that the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program necessitated a preemptive strike against military targets.

He added that Iran could have avoided this if they had not supported Hamas and Hezbollah during the ongoing War in Gaza.

We asked him if America should intervene in the conflict.

He said that America has not been involved in any of the operations so far, and that the main priority should be to ensure military personnel and Americans overseas remain safe.

“The chance of escalation against the United States right now I think is very low. However, today Iran spewed some more hateful rhetoric directly towards the United States. I think it will take more than rhetoric because they’ve had hateful rhetoric not only towards Israel but the United States in the past,” he said.

He added that Iran needs to commit to halting their nuclear program if they want to avoid further conflict with Israel.
