Flipper Bend Fire Update
Signal Mountain, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Signal Mountain, residents evacuated because of the Flipper Bend Fire are able to return home.
Residents of Boston Branch Circle were displaced for three to four days.
No houses were damaged, or now threatened by the fire.
“The reason why we do those is it’s a, we consider it to be just a safety precaution, and that we know that every single person that lives in that residence is accounted for. And that’s the main concern, is just making sure that we know that all those people who live in that area are safe,” says Amy Maxwell, Hamilton County Emergency Services Public Information Officer.
The Flipper Bend blaze is 1,000 acres, and 80% contained.
Fire crews say they’ve received a lot support from residents, receiving plenty of food, and water.
