Florida and Alabama Ready For Rematch in SEC Title Game

For the second straight year, it’s Alabama and Florida in the SEC Championship game on Saturday.
And once again, the Tide is expected to pound the Gators and roll into the college football playoffs.
Seems like old times with Bama and Florida in the SEC title game.
Saturday’s matchup will be the ninth time these two teams have battled for the league title.
Said Florida head coach Jim McElwain:”This is a special, special occassion playing in the 25th anniversary. The two teams that have been in it the most. I think that’s pretty fitting.”
Said Bama coach Nick Saban:”This is the 25th championship game. As I said yesterday, to have Coach Spurrier and Coach Stallings there, who played in the first championship game is really sort of something special.”
Bama is ranked number one, and they likely could afford a loss and still make the college football playoffs. Just don’t mention that to coach Saban.
Said Saban:”I mean y’all put everything about the playoffs man. That’s all you care about. You don’t care about any bowl games. You don’t care about any teams in the country that aren’t in the playoffs. I don’t know. If we don’t win this game, maybe we throw a stink bomb out there and maybe we don’t get in the playoffs. So I would really rather not have anymore questions about, is it okay to lose this game. It’s never okay to lose a game!”
Reporter:”I wanted to ask about Jalen. He’s done.”
Said Saban:”You should have asked that first.”
Said Bama tight end O.J. Howard:”We don’t want to lose man. That’s not even on our minds. We couldn’t even fathom the feeling that would be to lose.”
Both teams are tough on defense, especially Alabama.
They didn’t give up a touchdown in the month of November.
Said Bama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen:”We just try to go out there and try to dominate our opponent. Just suffocate them. Make them quit honestly.”
Said McElwain:”They’ve got a bunch of creatures. Here’s the one thing I think probably helps their creatures play at a high level consistently is they have a creature behind them, which is competition at positions. They know if they don’t, somebody will.”
The Tide and Gators kick at 4pm on News 12 Now.
