Flu is growing across the southeast, not just Rhea County
ATLANTA (WDEF) – Rhea County isn’t the only place suffering from a flu outbreak this week.
Due to continued sickness in the county, Rhea County Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday February 6 and 7 2017. Get well. See you wed.

Sweetwater City and Monroe County schools are also closed today by sickness.
In the latest FluView report from the CDC number of cases has gone up for seven consecutive weeks.
Influenza A (H3) is the dominant virus this season.
In the Southeastern region, all eight states now have elevated flu rates.
And we have the fourth highest flu rate of the ten regions.
“CDC recommends annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months of age and older. Anyone who has not gotten vaccinated yet this season should get vaccinated now.”
