Food City and News 12 name Golden Apple Teacher of the Year

It was another great school year for Food City and News 12!

We handed out 30 baskets of Golden Apples to deserving teachers throughout the Tennessee Valley.

Nominations poured in from students and parents.

Dr. Demetrius Leonard of Ridgeland High School is our Golden Apple Teacher of the Year!

He received a plaque and a $500 Food City gift card.

This year’s other finalists were Lisa Crowley from Gordon Lee Middle, Mike Beeler from Dade County High, Cara Stepp from Skillern Elementary.

Congratulations to all our wonderful teachers.

We’ll do it again next year.
