Food City Ribbon Cutting/Re-Grand Opening in Chatsworth
At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10th, Food City celebrated their newly expanded/remodeled location in Chatsworth, Georgia with ribbon-cutting ceremonies and a grand re-opening jubilee. The new and improved Food City got a makeover with a sleek and modern design, and introduced a new curbside pickup system for customers who prefer ordering online. Food City marked this momentous occasion with special advertising pricing on select items throughout the store.
According to Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer, “customers will find the same smiling faces, top quality products, exceptional customer service, and competitive pricing they have come to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences.” While the Chatsworth Food City may have gotten bigger and better, patrons will still be treated with the same care and respect they have always been shown. With the expansion creating forty-five new jobs for forty-five new Food City team members, there’ll be even more friendly folks to ensure absolute customer satisfaction.
The remodeling added over 10,700 sq. ft. of retail space to the building, bringing the total square footage to nearly 53,000 sq. ft. With that extra space comes the exciting addition of a Starbucks café, offering a delectable assortment of coffees and beverages as well as tasty breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The store’s expansion has also allowed for a larger and more diverse food service department, boasting new features such as a fresh food bar with a variety of soup, salad, and fruit. Food City’s upgraded food service department also includes a sandwich bar, Asian Wok, brick pizza oven, hickory smoker, in-store made popcorn, and fresh sushi. The floral and produce departments have also been enlarged and a new walk-up window was added to the Food City pharmacy.
In addition to creating an improved shopping experience, Food City also welcomes Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union to their Chatsworth location, which will offer a plethora of banking services. Todd Fortner, TVFCU president/CEO, says “we’re thrilled to expand our footprint in North Georgia and bring TVFCU’s exceptional services to the heart of Chatsworth. Our new branch inside Food City will offer extended hours, unparalleled service, and the best rates on savings, checking, and loans. We’re committed to serving the community of Murray County and providing convenient financial solutions that enhance our members’ lifestyles.”
Chatsworth’s Food City store manager Lee Harris thanked the “loyal customers for their understanding and patience during the construction process…customers will agree that these exciting new services were well worth the wait.”
