Food City to hire over 1,000 new employees

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Food City announced on Friday that they plan to hire over 1,000 new associates.

The company is having a hiring event on Thursday, April 27 at all Food City locations, as well as distribution centers.

The hiring event will last from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Food City will be hiring 1,200 new full- and part-time employees. Available will be entry-level and experienced positions. Some of these will include meat cutter, cake decorator, retail management and warehousing positions.

The grocery chain opened and expanded many stores this year. Their GoCart curbside pick-up and in-store food service options have continued to grow as well. Due to this, they created a number of new jobs.
