Former elementary teacher faces 10 sexual abuse charges

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has released the mugshot and 10 charges that an Ooltewah man faces. These charges involve child sexual abuse, according to police.

Duane L. Sanders is a 45-year-old former teacher. Hamilton County Police arrested him on Tuesday on a $1.3 million bond.

They are charging Sanders with four counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of aggravated rape of a child and five counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Sanders was previously a first-grade teacher at Wallace A. Smith Elementary School.
