Former GPS Soccer Star Kennedy Ball Returning Home to Play for CFC Women
(press release) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed midfielder Kennedy Ball for the 2025 Chattanooga FC Women’s WPSL season, pending federation and league approval.
“Kennedy exemplifies what our women’s program will prioritize moving forward,” said Chattanooga FC Technical Director Sebastian Giraldo. “We want to win championships and transition female athletes into professional contracts. She is a top athlete nationally and is the beginning of what will be many exciting signings.”
Ball played locally for the CFC Academy and was an All-American and won a state championship for Chattanooga’s Girls Preparatory School. She also played high school club soccer for FC Alliance ECNL.
Ball has continued her journey playing at the NCAA Division I level in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. She has excelled with the Razorbacks over the past two seasons, playing in 41 matches and starting in 30 of them. Some of her highlights with the Razorbacks include an SEC regular season title and going all the way to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA National Tournament in 2024.
“Kennedy is an essential player to what CFC Women is all about,” said Chattanooga FC Women Head Coach Juan Hernandez. “As a homegrown and former Academy player, she will bring a high level that will help empower our CFC female athlete pathway and our vision for the club.”
Ball expressed her excitement upon signing for her hometown club.
“I’m super excited for a change in scenery and to represent my hometown especially!” said Ball. “It’s a really special opportunity joining such a great fanbase, and it’s something that I can’t wait to experience!”
