Former Monroe County corrections officer indicted on official misconduct
MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A former Monroe County corrections officer has been indicted on official misconduct.
On December 20, 2022, TBI agents were asked to investigate various allegations of official misconduct against several Monroe County Jail employees.
During the course of the investigation, agents found that Cody Harrill, who was a corrections officer at the time, snuck in contraband into the Monroe County Jail.
According to the TBI, she also allowed others to do the same.
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Monroe County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Harrill with one county of Official Misconduct and one count of Introduction of Contraband.
Harrill turned herself in and was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
The TBI said she was released on her own recognizance.
