Former Red Bank RB Duane Morris Now Practicing With the Vols
Another area kid is going through spring drills with the Vols.
It’s former Red Bank running back Duane Morris.
He suited up for the Lions before transferring to Oakland high school in Murfreesboro.
Now that he’s on Rocky Top, Morris hopes to emulate a couple of Vols legends.
Reporter:”Are there any pro players that you look up to or try to emulate your game after?”
Morris:”Alvin Kamara. His patience. Being able to be that size. Just being able to break tackles and be elusive. Alvin Kamara is a great player.”
Reporter:”Coach Heupel said you remind him of Dylan Sampson.”
Morris:”That’s a great compliment knowing he broke records here and did a lot of great things here his senior year. I could see where Coach Heupel is coming from with that.”
Reporter:”I know you really haven’t practiced in pads yet. What’s the biggest difference running 11-on-11 at this level. Can you tell the difference in the challenge?”
Morris:”At this level in the SEC you know linebackers are going to have the same speed as running backs. Everybody is the same speed. Just bigger. Gaps close a lot faster. Speed of the game changes. No really big difference. Just have to get adjusted as we go.”
