Former Spring City Commissioner faces child abuse, drug charges
RHEA COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A former Spring City Commissioner is facing child abuse and drug charges.
Authorities arrested Jeff Rhear, along with two others, for exposing children to various drugs.
According to Rhea County online records, Jeff Rhear faces new charges including reckless endangerment and child abuse/neglect/endangerment.
The records show that back in June, they charged him with a variety of drug charges. Those include selling schedule 4 drugs (Xanax), two counts of selling or delivering schedule 2 drugs, possession of schedule 3 drugs with intent to sell, maintaining a drug house, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal simulation of at least $1,000.
They granted him bond on those charges.
The sheriff’s office also arrested Rose Rhear and Amber Ann Rhear. They both face reckless endangerment and child abuse/neglect charges.
The investigation into their home began in June 2023, according to the sheriff’s office.
