Former Vols Basketball Star Dale Ellis Visits Chattanooga
Chattanooga-(WDEF) Vols basketball legend and former NBA star Dale Ellis was in Chattanooga on Friday.
He helped judge the slam dunk contest for the McCallie Dr. Pepper Classic.
Ellis says he lives in Marietta, Georgia, where he is currently the president of the Atlanta chapter of the NBA Retired Players Aassociation.
Ellis is one of just six players in Vols history to score over 2,000 career points.
The former Tennessee hoops star says he likes what he’s sees from this year’s Vols basketball team.
Said Ellis:”They have a little bit more depth this year. I think he’s playing like ten deep off the bench. Got guys to come off the bench and contribute. And they’re playing as a unit. They’re not playing selfish basketball. They’re playing together. Working hard. That’s all you need to be successful.”
