WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A former lieutenant with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office has been sentenced after pleading guilty to stealing.

The charges stem from an investigation launched in June 2021, after suspicions arose that Amy Kathleen Bradley, then assigned to the Walker County Jail, was misappropriating cash payments for citations.

A Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) inquiry led by Special Agent Daniel Nicholson revealed that between 2018 and 2022, Bradley had been pocketing citation funds.

She later confessed to the theft during an interview with Agent Nicholson and was charged with multiple counts of Theft by Taking and Theft by Conversion.

Bradley entered a guilty plea on February 27, 2025, to one count of Theft by Taking.

As part of her plea agreement, Bradley must also pay over $70,000 in restitution to Walker County.

In addition, she is permanently barred from working in law enforcement or in any role involving the handling of money.

Bradley was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by 16 years of probation.
