Elderly abuse victim dies
UPDATE: Police Chief David Davis said one of the victims of this incident has died from his injuries.
He said the victim is 75-year-old Mitchell Levoid Hunter of Fort Payne, Alabama.
Police served a warrant on Brent Preston Hunter. He is being held at DeKalb County Detention Center for murder, according to Chief Davis.

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WDEF) — The Fort Payne Police Department arrested a man on multiple charges Sunday. Investigators said Brent Preston Hunter is the suspect.
The police department completed a welfare check at a home in Fort Payne. Upon arrival, they found two people injured. A DeKalb County ambulance then took them to a local medical center, but they were transferred to Erlanger Hospital.
Police also say the two individuals were in critical condition.
Police Chief Davis said Hunter is suspected of causing the injuries.
Hunter faces the following charges:
- Two counts of domestic violence.
- Two counts of elderly abuse.
- Certain persons forbidden to possess firearms.
On Wednesday, Hunter appeared at court. Police said they are holding Hunter at the DeKalb County Detention Center.
Fort Payne Police are still investigating the incident.
