Fort Payne man dies in Chattooga County crash, GSP says

CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A Fort Payne man died from a car wreck in Chattooga County on Monday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Georgia Highway 1 at Kirby Hollow Road.

There were three vehicles involved in the crash.

Cameron A. Bryars died from his injuries, GSP said.

Troopers learned Bryars was driving north on Highway 1 in a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado when he crossed the center line. He drove into the path of a 2017 Dodge 3500 that was traveling south. They collided head-on.

The Dodge then veered into the northbound lane and crashed into a 2018 Honda Accord.

Chattooga County Coroners pronounced Bryars dead on the scene. The Alabama Highway Patrol has notified Bryars’ family.

It is unclear if any of the other drivers were injured in the crash.
