Four Injured in Highland Park House Fire
Four people suffered injuries Wednesday night when their Highland Park home caught fire.
Fire officials say it was a close call.
Chattanooga firefighters were called to the house fire at 2405 Kirby Avenue around 11:30 p.m.
Battalion Chief Chris Willmore says one victim had burns to his hands, and another had 2nd degree burns to roughly 20% of his upper body.
All four victims suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to an area hospital..
Two firefighters received minor injuries while fighting the blaze.
Officials say 50% of the structure was destroyed, and the rest of the house was damaged by smoke, heat and water
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
